Club vision statement
Vision statement for Wycombe Hockey Club
Wycombe Hockey Club aims to provide a first class structured hockey playing and coaching environment for all abilities, ages and genders without prejudice. WHC will be inclusive not exclusive, actively encouraging all aspects of the sport in our local community and providing a social hub for all our members, parents and volunteers. We are committed to growing our club membership and to develop the game of hockey in conjunction with local schools, the Wycombe community and England Hockey. Ultimately our aim is to be the “club of choice” for all players in the local area, providing competitive league hockey at all levels and sections (i.e. men’s, ladies, juniors, mixed and vets)
Key to our vision is to ensure the club has access to excellent facilities, in particular a home for the club in High Wycombe with access to two pitches and a clubhouse.
As a club we will put in place a comprehensive and forward thinking administrative structure. We will strive to achieve England Hockey “Club First” accreditation (targeted for 2017) and through this process we will encourage all members, parents and volunteers to become involved in as many ways as possible. To underpin and strengthen the club management and structure we will offer access to relevant courses to enable the Club to improve its skills base.
Our junior sections are and have been for many years among the strongest in the UK. WHC will continue to allocate club resources, provide high level qualified coaching and ensure full parental engagement/involvement to ensure this unique set up thrives in our community. They will continue to be a vital source of talent for our future senior squads.
Finally, it is important to our club's ethos and principles that our juniors are fully supported to grow and develop as people, with a strong contribution hopefully coming from playing hockey at WHC. To this end all WHC members will be seen to conduct themselves on and off the pitch with dignity, compassion, and high moral standards, in line with England Hockey’s code of conduct.
